If you were a boy scout who grew up in West Peabody, MA, and/or perhaps a member of Troop #15, you might want this old keepsake. Any mother of a boy scout might also want this, too.
I have a handmade cookbook that was compiled and produced by the Ladies Auxiliary of Boy Scout Troop #15, West Peabody, Massachusetts and would like for someone you might remember it or value it to have it. My guess is that it's circa 1965 and looks like every page was hand typed, and they are top punched with 2 old clip rings for binding.
I've never blogged before, but this seems to be the only way to be heard with my offering.
The place I miss the most is my father's store, Rene's Market on the corner of Washington St. and Granite St. I have many fond memories of this place. I was a young girl when it opened. He stayed open until 9pm on Thurs. and Fri. and when he closed the store, my mother would zoom me up and down the isles in one of the metal carriages. I remember ringing in cigarettes .25cents unfiltered, .28cents filtered. We delivered groceries to people. I listened to the Red Sox games with him, and only wish that he didn't die so young. I would have loved to have made many more memories with my wonderful father, Rene Pariseau.
Clem's was a bakery downtown in the late 50's and 60's. They had wonderful spice cupcakes with orange frosting and great hermit cookies. I still remember the taste!

I can not disagree with Mollie.
